Thanksgiving is a holiday set aside for reflecting on all the things that we are thankful for. During our busy lives, it is easy to take our good fortunes for granted. Our American lifestyle is one that drives us to constantly want more instead of realizing how much we already have. Thanksgiving is the one time of year we are reminded that we should check in and remember all the things that are going right in our lives.

Every person has their own list to run through on Thanksgiving Day. Some make it a family tradition to go around the dinner table and share their thankfulness with all the friends and family in attendance. Others sit in solitude, reflecting on their list and what the day means to them.

Don’t forget to be thankful for logs this Thanksgiving. Your log furniture deserves your gratification. Rustic Natural Cedar 36 in Round Log Coffee Table

Being outdoors is one of my hobbies, it isn’t all about being adventurous or any of that, but just sitting at the garden or the backyard can make my day.  Another one of my habits is drinking coffee; I am actually addicted to it.  But don’t worry, there’s always decaf when I think I’m getting too much of it.  So, usually, I would see myself outside with a mug of coffee in one hand and a newspaper at the other.  But sitting on the steps gets tiring after awhile, and that’s when I decided I needed to get a chair and a coffee table.  Good thing I had a very resourceful and supportive wife, she immediately found me the perfect set.  She got me a round cedar log coffee table and a cedar chair to match it.

I loved the outdoors because of the sunlight, the cooling breeze and my coffee in the afternoon.  I appreciate the log coffee table because it matched my tree.  I felt like I’m in a different place when I’m in the garden drinking my coffee and reading the newspaper in the shaded sunlight.  It’s like a break from the hectic city and all of its noise and such.  The log chair was also very comfortable; I can lean on it and can never feel an ache from my back.  I never really understood what’s there in furniture but since I got my coffee table, I admired each log furniture I see.  I am attracted to their uniqueness, their ageless style that had survived years, even era (according to my wife, of course).  I was never a man for household keeping and all that designs and furniture, but I can definitely appreciate them and make use of their roles which can satisfy everyone.  My love for the outdoors and coffee was complimented by the coffee table and chair, thanks to my wife for being such a lovely woman who loves log and barnwood furniture.

Lakeland Log Medicine Cabinet

People love bathrooms, that’s what people working for the real state tells their clients.  People, when they want to buy a house, are very interested in bathrooms.  Well, for me, I want my bathroom to look cabin-like.  What I want is that when I enter through the door, there’ll be the illusion that I am living in a cabin rather than in the city.  So, I made a checklist on what there should be in my cabin-inspired bathroom.

• Log Medicine Cabinet – med cabinets are very important in bathrooms, it’s where you will find what you need whatever injury you might acquire inside the house.  So, my bathroom should have its log medicine cabinet, which will look great with my wall made of wood.  Medicine log cabinets might not be as spiffy as plastic or metal ones but there is always beauty in logs that none can imitate at all.
• Log Vanity – a “Must” in my bathroom.  I need the mirror and all the drawers that I will put my stuffs into.  There are many sorts of log vanity; with or without sinks, with or without mirrors, made of north wood, lumberjack or even cedar.  Their hand-peeled texture and smoothness will definitely satisfy your thirst for log furniture, they are perfect in anyway you see them – and utterly useful too!
• Log Clothes Hamper – hampers are very important, they are like ring hoops in basketball.  I tend to play with them when I change clothes, shooting them on the hamper like a professional basketball player (which I cannot ever achieve in my life, really).  It’s the only spot where the laundry should go, they make the bathroom organized and mess-free!
• Wood Bath tub – okay, this might not be log but still, it’s a brother, as it is wood.  There was a certain wood bath tub I saw before, it was circular, and looked so wonderful!  It has more appeal than the ordinary bath tubs everyone has now, so if you want to be a difference, choose this one!

Contemporary style doesn’t have to be all wood or log, that’s what I learned.  But I still won’t forget that log or wood alone can create great masterpieces all by themselves.  Still, when wrought iron is put on log, another masterpiece would come alive and impress us all.  I’m talking about Log and Iron beds that have their own beauty with two elements combined in one.  Some of its beds are made from solid iron frame and added with lovely hand-peeled logs for a great finish.  But logs and irons does not stop with beds, they are also perfect with tables and benches, even with chairs.  Take the Ozark Iron Circle Leaf Nightstand for instance; it’s built with white cedar logs and strong irons that you will be guaranteed of its quality and stability.

Log and Iron furniture have its own accent or character that comes from its appearance alone.  It might remind you of the Victorian era, or many other, when they have their highlights in existence, even now.  I particularly admired their flexibility to fit into anywhere you place them, whether in your home or cabin.  Each furniture has their own design, uniqueness, and the uniqueness of Log and Iron furniture, like beds, is outstanding.  The durability can never be doubted, as wood can stand solidly alone, then much better when combined with the strength of wrought iron.  Log and Iron benches or end tables can be great additions to your already wonderful interior design, they can never outshine but compliment your other furniture and by looking astounding as well.  We should always be experimental, even with furniture, and never be afraid to try other sorts and you’ll be surprise of each masterpiece that will make you awestruck with its structure and beauty.  It can never harm us to try furniture made of log and iron, though we are a fan of barnwood furniture, we can still appreciate other ones that are still relatives in logs or wood, whichever element they are combined with.

We spend a lot of time talking about our love of all things rustic. We adore log furniture for many different reasons and throughout all the seasons. Not only is it comfortable and casual, but it epitomizes the ambience we want to project both inside and outside of our home. Log furniture is beautiful in many different ways. The unique character of an individual piece is created by the personality of the logs that make it. Those logs bear the scars of their existence – worm tracks, knots, and cracks.  Those cracks are  known in the log furniture world as “checks”.

Checking is a perfectly normal process that occurs with the seasoning and drying of logs. Even though some of the checks may be wide and extend far into the depth of the wood, rest assured that the log is still structurally sound. The integrity of the log is retained and the checks do little to affect its durability. Even large logs in the rafters of cabins experience checking but still function for the lifetime of the log home.

Log furniture is beautiful in its rustic simplicity. The unique personality of the logs helps to determine the character of each piece. Even though different techniques may be used to debark and construct the furniture, checking occurs as a natural part of the process. Be proud of your beautiful log furniture when admirers check it out.

Cottage Lounge Chair

It just came to me that I need to have some sudden love for chairs.  Why? Ask yourself if you can live a life without chairs.  Whether it’s uncomfortable, you would still sit on it because YOU HAVE TO.  Can you imagine a world without chairs, where you need to stand all the time or sit way down to the floor?  It would be so terrible, and there’s no way around it.  So, we need to have love for chairs.  That’s why I’m writing a review about one certain chair called the “Cottage Lounge Chair”.  Personally, I prefer chairs that are very comfortable.  Soft but with the air of strength that you wouldn’t worry it’ll collapse on you.  This chair has the world “comfortable” written all over it.

Its hand peeled Northern White Cedar logs are very appealing and its pieces were put on together perfectly that you will be sure it won’t give away with any weight put on it.  This chair caught my eyes because of how I pictured myself when I finally sit on it.  You should try that when you’re looking for a new chair.  Picture yourself in it and see if you’ll find yourself sitting comfortably on it.  If yes, then it must be a great chair to buy, if not, look for more – there ought to be a perfect log furniture chair for you somewhere.  This Cottage Lounge Chair’s cushion seats looked so comfy there should be no doubt about it.  That’s what we’re also looking for on chairs, the comfy cushions that will ease up our tensed muscles and shoo away the stress as we relax on it.  This is basically the role of chairs, something to sit upon which you can relax on, or use it on times that you really need it.  Lucky for us, they’re always there, waiting for you to sit on them and be thankful that they exist.

Cedar Lake Log Bookcase – we should always match cedar to cedar. This bookcase is once again a space-saver. Doesn’t eat too much space but can accommodate a fair amount of books that will aid you in studying, researching and all that. I know there’s already the computer, and you can put it on your study desk, but books are still very appealing in a study room.

You would notice that aside from appeal, I chose to suggest these furniture pieces that won’t occupy huge spaces. It is always advisable to have a spacious room, especially if you need it to have your mind at peace so you could use it at its greatest.
