Furniture FAD
Friday, July 16th, 2010A lot of people, including myself, often emphasized how important design is when it comes to furniture. However, design is but just one aspect that we should consider when choosing or buying furniture or furniture sets. After all, we don’t put-up furniture just for show.
This article is for the wise buyer. She or he is the type of person that can juggle costs and benefits and make sure that she has the winning weight. It you are that kind of buyer or you want to be that kind of buyer, I’ve got some helpful stuff written here. These are tips on how to shop for the right furniture.
There are several things you must put in mind and must base your judgment upon whenever you try to purchase or even canvass for furniture. I have summed it up in three categories and I call it the “Furniture F.A.D.”
F for Functionality
Every furniture is made to be useful. Beds and seating are made for user convenience and cabinets, shelves, etc. are made to contain smaller items at home. This should be your foremost consideration. The best furniture is the one that best serves its function.
A recent trend has surfaced that gives the lime light to multifunctional furniture. As the name suggests, these furniture can serve not only one but other functions as well. This is best exemplified by tables with drawers, tundler beds, chairs that are convertible to tables, and the like.
A for Appeal
Appeal simply pertains to design. Remember that furniture is the most visible item in the house. Therefore, it should have a good appearance; a good look. Furniture should be handsome. This creates an impression of a handsome home. Just take a look at this good looking dining set on the left. It is the Rustic Natural Cedar Solid Top Dining Table Model 221. Browse through JHE’s Real Log Furniture Place website and see a lot of items that are as handsome as this one. It’s a feast for the eyes.
For tips on designs, read my other blogs because I have touched that topic for several times. I’m sure you’ll find a great deal of help in those.
D for Durability
On the practical side, you furniture should be able to serve its purpose for a long time. The best furniture is the one that is most durable. This means that your choice of furniture must b the ones that are not easily damaged or broken.
In that case, log furniture is the best choice. Log furniture can last until seven decades depending on the wood that’s used. A good example of this is Teak wood. Teak wood is the most durable among all types of wood. Its durability is very reliable that most outdoor furniture wood are preferred done with teak as material. Teak also becomes better as it age. As I have said before, teak furniture is even passed down as heirloom.
But perhaps the important thing to remember here is that the more durable the furniture is, the more practical it is to purchase.
